KB5WIA Satellite DX-Pedition to California Lost Coast CM79

KB5WIA Satellite DX-Pedition to California Lost Coast CM79 Video Clips. Duration : 4.50 Mins.

This is a video tour of KB5WIA's operating location during a satellite amateur radio expedition to the California Lost Coast. The exact location is 124 degrees west, 40 degrees north, at the corner of maidenhead grid squares CM79, CM89, CN70, and CN80. The video starts by showing the GPS display at the exact intersection of the latitude and longitude lines. It then shows the satellite ham radio station which is set up exactly over the grid intersection. The video then follows the coaxial cable up the hill to the remote antenna located just over the ridge top. The dual-band Elk log-periodic antenna was used to make the contacts with the distant ham radio satellites. The video then concludes with a short hike along the Lost Coast trail to the junction of Chinquapin Loop Trail.
